How the Government Insulation Scheme Works
The government created the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme to make quality home insulation affordable for Kiwi families. Since August 2025, the government has expanded eligibility criteria to include around 58,000 more homeowners. If you checked before and didn’t qualify, you might now meet the new requirements.
What the scheme covers:
The government insulation scheme helps you pay for professional insulation installation in eligible homes. The funding you receive depends on your circumstances and where you live within New Zealand’s socio-economic deprivation (NZDep) areas.
